Kakishibu, a traditional Japanese fermented persimmon tannin, has been treasured for centuries for its remarkable skin-conditioning and naturally antibacterial properties. Modern science has also confirmed what many already knew: Kakishibu is uniquely effective at neutralizing 2-nonenal, the compound responsible for the subtle scent changes that come with age — one that water and standard soaps often can't fully remove. Combined with our locally sourced lard base, this bar is something genuinely rare.

Lard shares a fatty acid and lipid profile remarkably close to human skin, which means it cleanses without stripping your natural oils — just a creamy, conditioning lather that leaves skin soft and balanced. It's especially kind to dry, sensitive, or irritated skin, including eczema and psoriasis-prone complexions.
